Frequently Asked Questions

How does membership work?
EkIdea memberships grant a number of nomination credits each month. Use credits to enter ideas into category-based funding pools. Plans renew monthly and you can cancel anytime.
What is a nomination credit?
A nomination credit is the unit you spend to enter an idea into a pool. One credit equals one nomination. Most pools require a single credit, with select premium pools requiring more.
Are winners selected randomly?
No. EkIdea is not a lottery. Every winner is selected through a transparent, skill-based review process that combines clear judging criteria with expert review.
Who owns my idea?
You do. Founders retain 100% ownership of submitted ideas. EkIdea never claims equity, IP, or control over concepts shared on the platform.
How are prize funds calculated?
Each pool has a guaranteed minimum prize fund. EkIdea retains a 20% platform fee to operate the platform; the remaining 80% is awarded to winners according to the pool rules.
How are winners paid?
Canadian winners are paid via Interac e-Transfer. International winners are paid via Wise, PayPal, or Wire Transfer based on your preference.
What happens if my idea is ineligible?
If a submission does not meet the rules of a pool, the credit is refunded automatically. We will notify you with a clear explanation and recommend better-fit pools.
Does membership guarantee funding?
No. Membership grants nomination credits and platform access, but funding is competitive and decisions are at the sole discretion of EkIdea reviewers.
